VOTING PROCEDURE

Prior to the October Association Meeting the Election Committee of three (3) will collect all will publicly announce the cut off nominations on October 18th. I’m thinking this needs to be sooner, maybe the 15th to give us time to count the nominations and contact the nominees. After the cutoff date, the Committee will gather the nominations and meet prior to the October Association meeting (October 19th). The Election Committee members will act as “counters” and make a record of the results (this will be known as the Report). Each candidate must have at least two nominations to be on the ballot. The nominees will be contacted prior to the October 19th meeting to verify they want the position they have been nominated for and are capable fulfilling a 2-year commitment.

At the October Association meeting, Floor nominations will be allowed and must be seconded. An election committee member will add the names those names to the Report. The completed Report of all nominees will then be read aloud at the October Association meeting. Candidates will have the opportunity to refuse their nomination in which case the Committee will omit their name. 

Using the Report, a ballot will need to be prepared and distributed to residents as a flyer in November newsletter. I know we had some discussion about other ways to get the ballots to residents and I’m not sure we came up with a different plan. We talked about numbering the ballots, but I didn’t catch what we decided. 

Ballot counting will be tabulated by the Election Board using the same method as used in the Nomination votes and the results announced at the Nov. Association meeting.
